Offers for help, rejection, greetings workshop.
Walking through the space eye darting. Asking for help and getting rejected in words. "we must hurry, inside now bella" Felt vulnerable for asking for help - doctor/chemist... "you got the time" Felt hopeful when asking for help - "Ana are you okay?" Play about human relationships and built through the physical communication. Audience is left feeling vulnerable. Our relationships that we have with the neighbours and our interactions. Today's workshop was very powerful and i connected with it on a personal level as i realised, through the context of the play, how human interaction today isn't what it used to be and now even though we say we are more 'connected' via the internet - some basic human interaction is gone such as saying hi as you walk past someone on the street or having a chat to your neighbours! We started off with the eye darting and this was confronting as people do it today and it felt horrible to purposefully do to others in the class today. verbal rejection to a plead for help was just as difficult to handle on a personal level! How could someone not want to help when if the roles were reversed they would want that help. In the world that we live in, modern society is very cut off on a interpersonal level as what it used to be. This makes me very sad!!! The three photos represent the three main actions we looked at in class today. Greeting, rejection and asking for help. In some of the exercises we would respond positively and sometimes negatively and reject the offer/request. |
