Getting up to physicalise
Today we were in the adams centre.
We warmed up by playing a game that I hadn't previously played - the Potato game. basically a focus listening exercise where we roamed around as potatoes... Classic! After sitting down in our groups Lochie, Angharad and I talked about the quotes we found for the themes we assigned from last week. I had a bunch of Neighbourood watch and found some stolen scenes that i though could work really well for being transported into a GP type of setting. We discussed scene ideas from other plays and the merging of the two in some places. Ms Daley encouraged us to get up and just try to get something down and acted this lesson so we did. Taking the opening scene from Stolen where Anne, Sandy and Ruby talk about home, "Don't need no home of me own" - Ruby "I carry my home with me" - Sandy "I've got a home of my own" - Anne We have staged this as seen on the right, some of the original staging of the play and some new staging made to create more tension on the stage. after this lines are said we wanted to accentuate the importance of the word HOME in each line so we repeat these lines and co-ordinated a sync up where we all say home together and then break the line and form a circle into a sing-song like dance in a circle transitioning into the next scene which we are thinking will be an ANA story to show the continuing importance of how HOME affects ones IDENTITY. Going forth we are going to think about other scene ideas and transitions but it looks as though the main theme of this piece is going to be focused on how home affects ones sense of identity. |
